Chow with no mein

A restuarant review

Was the best Chinese in Des Moines. When the establishment reopened, the items on the menu looked more like a glorified Panda Express. lf this was Panda, I would have rated it appropriately, but the interior and prices were giving “meals served family-style with a cocktail”. Ordered chow mein and was served chow but no mein. When asking about the noodles, the waiter pointed to the fried wonton pieces and said that was the mein. This is the equivalent of ordering spaghetti but receiving fried bread peices sprinkled on meat in marinara instead. I did enjoy the humor of a dish meant to represent long ife lacking vitlity. We did order other things, but like the menu, I don’t feel it’s worth elaborating on.
